HAPPY B-DAY/LO's To Share

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to my YAYA Mellisa... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABYCAKES, I hope you had a FABO day!! I tried to call U, but your probably out partying and getting yourself into a whole wack of trouble.. YOU BIG LUSH!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. I hope this year is full of love, happiness, and successful baby making... LOVE YOU!

Also just wanted to share some of the work I did this weekend! I am still stuck on one LO.. I hate that. I have put it at the bottom of the pile, and everytime I scrap, I take a look at it, hoping some idea will come to mind..LOL Have you ever done that?

LOL.. my girls (of course) using the Nov Bad Girls Kit. It was also a sketch challenge at Lifetime Moments for the 3 month Winter Scrapfest I am participating in.

This LO called UR FABULOUS, was based on a scraplift at LM hosted by Tracy Austin. The idea was to scraplift the person who posted above you on the forums. So I did!

This LO is called FULL OF WONDER and sorry for the crummy pic... should've taken it in natural light! LOL I took over 3 hours on this LO, fussing and fixing, and even right now I am not happy with it. Another picture scrapped though..LOL

This was also a scrapfest challenge. I had to use 3 different buttons (one is stacked on top of another in the Lil) atleast 25 words of journalling, and metallic embellishments (the title and the HS rub-on)

This scrapfest has really motivated me to scrap. I have moved a few kits in my bedroom along with my basic scrap supplies. I throw on a movie and spread out on my bed scrapping. I restict myself to use my kits (but if I really need something else, I go into my scrap area and find it...LOL). I find that I am using my stash more and more, instead of leaving a whole wack of scraps and odds and ends in embellishments. I also mix and match different papers from different companies. Loving that! LOL

Well that's it for now... hoping to get some more done this weekend.. and that darn tootin, pain in my arse LO that I can't seem to finish! LOL

One Main Scrapper for Inspiration/LO Share

Good morning everyone.... well it has been a scrapilicious weekend for me! I started scrapping around dinner time yesturday and quit at 2 am. I managed to get 4 LOs done!! WAHOOOOOO... I plan on scrapping some more today too.. John is picking up another batch of pics at Costco ... new pics = new inspiration!

Another LO to share (not from the 4 I made yesturday.. I still need to snap pics of those). I did this LO from the Bad Girls Decmeber kit and entered their monthly Apron challenge. I didn't win, but managed to get another page done and use some of the stash! LOL

I have been quite pleased with the way my style has evolved. It has changed completely since my Doodlebug days. I tend to choose more of the shabby chic/collagy style, and tend to be more pleased with the end result. That being said I have thought about why it has changed and one MAIN person comes to mind!!

For those of my blog readers that are unfamiliar with Steph's work, do yourself a favour and go check out her blog. True, I am biased as she is a close friend, but that set aside, this woman oozes talent like it's nobody's business. Her work isn't just scrapping... IT'S ART! When I am stuck on a LO, I will go and check out her blog and suddenly I am inspired again. I have seen her work in real life too, and the steps she goes through to reach that perfect masterpiece is mind boggling.. she makes it look so easy.. while I sit back in awe, wondering if I can have just one small chunk of her creative mind....LOL Since meeting her and becoming close to her, my scrapping have improved 100%. While yes I have many people who inspire me (all my YAYA's..lol) Steph always sticks out like a sore thumb...

So Stephie.. you are my muse.. thank you for inspiring me that way you do!!!

Doncha love a good sweat?? LOL

Well I have gone to the gym every morning this week and the first two days I took it super easy... well this AM there was no more of that! I GAVE ER!!!!! LOL

30 minutes of a good sweat on the treadmill... and I feel fabo!!!! I totally thought I gained a billion pounds over the holidays.. I was extremely bad, eating what I wanted and most of the time it wasn't good for me..LOL Surprisingly though... I didn't gain anything.. I almost fell of the scale when I saw that... I didn't exercise over the holidays so I have no idea how I did it...maybe I wasn't as bad as I thought I was...

That being said... after my wicked burn of a workout, and the buckets of sweat I melted off, the best part was the tempid shower after... letting the cool water run over your beet red face feels so amazing.. SIGH

So tonight I celebrated with a lazy dinner of pizza BAHAHAHAHAHA... YES I HAD SALAD TOO!!!!! HeeHee

Tomorrow I have Pilates.... ya know even if the pounds don't melt off me... it is sure worth the effort I am putting in!! I feel great!

Today I am actually going to scrap... I have been given some quiet time in my room (I haven't been feeling all that great the past couple of days), from my hubby! He is on kid patrol...god luv him BIG! LOL So I have my December Bad Girl Kit and my challenge(s), some pics printed... and away I go!

It never ceases to amaze me that my babies have gotten so big. I often wonder where all the time has gone.. More and more I find myself searching for some tid bit of baby left in them... it's not there anymore. SIGH... they have grown into beautiul little girls though and I am sure that before long I'll be searching for that tid bit of little girl, in my teens... so I am just gonna live for the now and enjoy it while I can!!! LOL

It's gonna be a GREAT YEAR!

WELCOME 2008!

Well while many people have started a list of resolutions, I have decided against the whole damn thing! I am not going to say I am going to lose weight, I am not going to say that I need to hit the gym more.... I am not resolving anything. I am going to take one day at a time and enjoy the moments much more. I am going to make more time for the personal things that I love and adore... My friends, My family and my crafts!

It's been a great holiday. I have relaxed, and taken it all in.. more so than I thought I would! This is a good thing seeing as before my holidays, I was fit to be tied..LOL

I have been checking out some blogs and ideas to get more scrapping done and I have come across a few great ideas...

1 - I have joined Lifetime Moments Winter Screpfest. I joined the summer one but with the death of my FIL, I didn't have the time to dedicate to it.. so the cold winter will be spent scrapping thru challenges! I know that some people may be a tad leery paying the 10 bucks... but I do shop there often so the discount rocks, and Jackie always has amazing doorprizes etc. I have yet to particiapte in anything that I wasn't rewarded with atleast $20 of free product! Not to mention the challenges from the DT ROCK! Check em out!

2 - My girlfriend Tracy Austin who is a MMM is hosting an ART Challenge at LM aswell. 5 weeks of art challenges with five different images. They are all posted now and in true Tracy style she picked the most challenging of them... GOD LOVE YOU GIRL! Here is the link!

3 - I am also involved in the 2008 designing with Calendar challenges at LM. I purchased my calendar with them, and I get access to a private forum, with a chance to get pubbed in an AL DW book. There is a winner each month. That being said.. I don't expect to win, but the pages will get done! LOL

4 - At Bad Girls, they are about to announce the January Challenge that one lucky gal (who is a kit subber) may have a chance to win. Wendy (owner of BG) has ordered 12 beautifully blinged up Aprons that are given away each month... I am so going to try hard to win one!! YOU BEST TOO KATIE! LOL

5 - Anna from Pencil Lines is hosting a free workshop challenge called 365 Challenges. This focuses entirely on you... I don't think I'll do 365 days but maybe one a week....

6 - If you have received Donna Downey's latest newsletter, then you can see the ideas that are brimming in her head. She has an Art journal in the works, and has decided to do a photo a day with the text of what is going on in that pic written right on it. Here is an example right from her newsletter!

As I find more blogs/sites that hold some great challenges, I'll be sure to share. I love doing challenges as it gives me more incentive to actually scrap. While I would love to actually commit to a 365 challenge I think realistically it's best to start small. Maybe try to do something for one week, one month etc.. then take it from there!!!

So again Welcome 2008... I bet you are just brimming with adventure!! All I have to say to that is BRING IT ON!!!!!! LOL

FINALLY FINISHED/HAPPY "B" DAY Katie

Yes, Xmas shopping that is.. I KNOW I KNOW... holy late batman... but I do have a reason! LOL

So John and I were some stressed for a while... about a week and a half ago, our car went "kaboom".. well it didn't really blow up but it oveheated while we froze our arses in the car.. Go figure. So off to the car repair man we go. We are told that this is a $1000 job, which we are okay with considering it's been a good car, and have had no major expenses with it either. Well that turned into another problem, which turned into a nother problem etc... until the final bill was $4250.. YES I AM NOT FIBBIN...LOL I was freakin! We had the money in savings, but that seriously hampered Xmas. My boy was flying in, and I had 2 girls who were seriously expecting that joly fat man to come down our non existent chimney. Well after a chat with my mom and dad they helped us out.

THANK YOU MOM AND DAD... YOU SAVED XMAS!

So John and I went out on friday and were pleasantly surprised at the lack of volume (I mean the rush of last minute shoppers is horrific) out there. Between Toys R Us and Walmart, we found everything. We also decided to forgo giving gifts to eachother and making it about the kids... That happens when you blow over $7000 in less than 2 weeks (remember we had to fly cody in, and drive all the way to Montreal to get him) LOL John and and I agreed to save for a new TV, and give it to eachother. Summer maybe??? LMAO

Anyways, Cody is here, my tree is up and smells wonderful, I am officially on holidays (scrapping and blog posting here I come) and I am just relaxing and waiting for the magic of Xmas. we will be heading to my mom and dad's tomorrow for a Xmas Eve feast, and of course Xmas day with Xmas dinner!

Have lots to check thru today but not too sure how much "findings" I'll post! But here we go!
