Welcome to the world Kasey Patricia Squires/Odds n' Ends

Hey Hey Hey..... So my sitter has been crazy ill this week, and John had to stay home with the monkeys. Today is my turn.. so I am going to attempt to get them to clean their rooms, and their toys downstairs... Funny how they loose time when they are in the midst of this task. Half the time their rooms get messier! LMAO

On an awesome note, we have a new addition to our YAYA family! My YAYA Katie, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 15 Apr 08, and they named her Kasey Patricia. I have yet to see the littlest Squire member, but I know that Katie is home, resting and I am sure a tad sleep deprived. So a huge congrats to Katie, Ryan and Kayleigh, on their new addition. I love you all, rest well and can't wait to meet Kasey!

So I haven't done much scrapping this past week. I have a mini album that I really need to get pics of and posted. I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I am now anxiously awaiting my Apr 08 Bad Girl Kit, and I really hope it's in today so I can scrap with it this weekend! LOL In the meantime I have some crazy scrap spring cleaning to do... crazy how much stuff I have!

John will be home soon so I am going to get caught up on a few of my friends blogs... and then gonna get me some family time in place! Hope you enjoy the read!

Cheeseball Day Me Thinks

So I am feeling a little human again today. I have an appetite which is great seeing as I have hardly eaten the past few days.. yes that includes my coffee... can you believe it?? Me.. not wanting coffee?? Just goes to show you how ill I've been...lol John is bringing me home a Quiznos Sub for lunch (the perks of him only working 10 min away) and i'll get to have lunch alone with him too. He sounded so happy that I had a bit a spark in my voice again!

So plans today involve, scrapping (as long as my energy lasts), and cheeseball 80's movies that always make me feel so happy! On the top of the list... the YAYA TeeHee (atleast Mell and I...lol) SIXTEEN CANDLES.

Used my March Bad Girls kit here, using the add-on aswell. I painted the cardstock, stickles it to death, and then scrapped on the fabric. Kinda Funky! LOL

3 YEARS FROM NOW

This was for my DDD challenge to use a number in your title. I have been meaning to correct my title by matting the black letters on the pic onto white CS to make them pop a tad more. The background is the damask packing tape I got in my Oct Bad Girls Kit, on while CS. Looks cool! That's my gorgeous Alexa!

Ok, so those that were around me when I was creating this LO must of thought I was on crack...lol I couldn't stop giggling the entire time, as this LO is crazy. I mean really out there for me. LOL I am quite happy with the final result though...LOL Used the March Bad Girls Kit, and that is my Angie having some fun at the park!

LOVE

I LOVE how this LO came out. The brown bunch of flowers, the word love and the brown hearts are all from the new released 12x12 Big Board Transparencies from Fancy Pants. I alcohol inked them, but found them on the orangy side, so the used the Heidi Swapp Bark paint. then of course my stickles... Loved how they came out. A huge thanks to my YAYAs on this one too, Steph help me with the circle concept, and Mell and Tanya contributed from their stashes to give it that extra uumppphhh! The pic of course is my YAYAs from our latest photo shoot, and the LO was made from a Jenni Bowlin kit.

Another one of my faves this weekend. This is my John and our girls... which is an amazing pic. I used the Jenni Bowlin March kit, used a few items that I got from my vintage junque swap over at Bad girls a few months ago. I got the aged doily from a store in etsy! Used metallic rubs (thanks Mell) to grunge it up and give it a aged look. And bulk embellished on the flower.

This a lift from Heidi Swapp. I can't find the original, as it was in Tanya's scrap journal, but the idea is the exact same. I absolutely love it, and love that it is a page about my gorgeous hubby! LOL Painted the J on the CS, then went crazy with the words. The dragonfly was stickled to death (are ya seeing a trend here...LOL)

I SAY IT AVEC AMOUR (with love)

This is another LO using the March Bad Girls Kit. It is for the recycle challenge that was posted. The idea was to use something from the kit that wouldn't normally be used, and recycle it. So I cut off the top tab of the "Say it with Crystals" and incorporated it into my title. I also used the polka dot backing and sanded around the edges... used it behind my pic. Great challenge!!!

This LO was done by my YAYA Tanya and given to me. We had a challenge amongst us gals to compose a kit with pics, and we drew to se who would have to scrap using it. Then we drew again to see who kept the LO's once they were created. So Tanya drew Steph's kit, and then i drew to keep it. Here is is!

Well that's about all the sharing for now. I have a few lo's started that i had to walk away from bfore I threw them out...LOL Will tackle them some other time when i find the inspiration again. In the meantime, will be scrapping this weekend hopefully.. I am expecting "Aunt Flo" so I'll be in a lot of pain... and the narcs always hlep not just with the pain, but with the creativity too.. Sad hu?

Gettin ready for NAVCAN!

Tomorrow evening I leave for my mom's and Fri morn we are off to our Bi-annual crop in Navcan! 3 days of straight scrapping, and fun having, and no stress. We can swim, lay around in the hot tub, grab a cup of joe, sleep, scrap, oh I am so pumped! LOL

Anyways will be MIA for a few days.. will post my creations and those that i have recently done and been too lazy to post...LMAO

Well I have come to realize that I really have been sucking with blog posting this month (past couple of months...lol) Seems when I make a point of it, I really need to play catch up.. so I will start posting more and more!!!!

Wanted to give a huge shout out to my YAYA Stephanie. Her big announcement came out... she was a Guest Designer for Making Memories blog. I'm like a peacock right now for her, spreading my wings and basking in her glory. Those of us local girls have always known she is a talent to be reckoned with, but now the whole scrapping world will be privy to this info as well! Her name will be in lights ones day scrappers, mark my words!

Here is the LO that she submitted, and I love that she spotlighted our YAYA friendship as it is one that we are all proud of! Please go and leave her some love on the MM blog and her personal blog. I suspect we're going to be seeing lots of love, inspiration and candy on her blog in the next few months!!!



CONGRATS STEPHIE!!!!! I LOVE YOU AND COULDN'T BE PROUDER!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to leave some love to my YAYA Katie and the Squires family. They have had lots of bad news in their family of of late, and this weekend brings another event. Katie's father in-law sadly passed away (less than a year after her MIL). Quite unexpected, although ill, they were not expecting this to happen this weekend. Huge hugs to you Katieroo, and please give Ryan our love. Be good to yourself this week while you lay Mr Squires to rest, and be strong for Ryan. Love you, don't worry about anything at home here. Us YAYA's will be here for you as you need us to be! Call me if you need to talk!

I was also TAGGED my fellow Bad Girl Linda.. I tell you i just adore this woman.. she commonly refers to herself as a "Hippie", and this just may be the reason why I luv her so much. A - ART... I have never been an artist per say. Actually I have memories of getting D's and F's in art class in elementary school, cause my work was always messy and never by the book. I've Been TAGGED

Hey ya blog readers... I have had one hell of a rough week.. I have endometriosis and had a huge flair up this week during my visit from Aunt Flo... VERY PAINFUL! So I have been bed ridden and have kept pretty much to myself while I was fighting the pain. I get pretty loopy on the pain meds, so I didn't socialize by choice... I didn't want to be held responsible for anything rude I may have or not have said... LMAO Feeling better today though... will be taking it easy for the remainder of the weekend. I have a fews things to post, including some ATCs, a couple of LOs... and once completed a large mixed media canvas! I've really been experimenting lately!

So my Bad Girl Jen (PEPSIGIRL) tagged me a while ago and I never did post my answers.. so here we go! LOL

7 Random Facts about Me

1 - I love to eat peanut butter and jam sandwiches with a bowl of cream of mushroom soup... YUP nasty huh?? But I love it!!!! LOL

2 - There are only a handful of people that I consider myself close with... you know it if you are one of those people.

3 - I am a very giving person, but tend to get hurt easily when it is not reciprocated.

4 - I LOVE original flavoured Bubble Gum

5 - I am my Dh's second wife... John got married with his first wife at a very young age...and they weren't ready for marriage. I thank god everyday for that though, as I got to marry the mature John who was ready, and got a step-son out of the deal!

6 - I LOVE tequila.. and am told I am a fun drunk..LOL

7 - I love the outdoors but avoid the sun at all costs... I burn quite easy and get very sick if out for too long. I had sun stroke as a teen and lost my vision for a few hours after I had a spasm in my occipital lobe. Very scary!

I have been dying to share this for some time now... I am a Becky Fleck friend...LOL I got to do one of her absolutely gorgeous sketches for her March Newsletter. As she was travelling, her newsletter was posted a tad late... So now I can finally post the work I did for her!

I must say this was hard to do.. As my style has changed, it's harder and harder for me to follow a sketch... I struggled with this and felt really under pressure. Ya know when the whole world is going to see one of your LOs, you are super critical of your own work... I had to just walk away and say... "well that is good enough" LOL

I just wanted to give a shout out to my YAYA Katie... she just did something super extraordinary... She made the most heart and love filled LO for me, that it actually made me tear up...

Journaling:

When you first showed me this picture, I started to cry. Now it may have had something to do with being pregnant but I believe the tears were for what the picture represented. I look at this photo and I see many things. I see a soldier. I see a Mother. I see my dear friend. I see a soldier carrying and comforting a child, this could be here on Canadian soil as easily as it could be on Afghanistan soil. When I look at this picture I think of what you must face, the struggle to be both solider and mother, to serve and protect our soldiers and at the same time leave your children and family to face unknown travesties. I am filled with pride when I look at this photo, pride in knowing that my Rachel is one of the very best in her field and that one day she will be saving the lives of our troops and taking care of them with the same compassion you see here in this photo. I also know that you are a great mother to your two little girls, and they too are proud of their mother. I pray for your safety, your wholeness, your spirit, your family. I pray that God will grant us more soldiers like you.

I have tried to leave a comment several times and then hesitated to push submit cause I just couldn't get out what I wanted say!! So here it goes on my blog here.... You YAYA's are one of the most important aspects of my life... your constant encouragement, your endless support, and your pride in me keeps me going. You guys are my first set of civilian friends in a very long time, and for that you are super special. When you hang out with other military members, no one ever talk about how special it is to serve your country... we just do it. I feel so filled with honour discussing what I do for a living.. and your constant questions and love just makes me want to work harder. Thank you ladies for placing so much faith in what I do... bless you for your encouragement... you call me a proud Canadian, but you all should look in the mirror... You are as proud as I am in your own unique ways. I am not a hero in my eyes, but I am one in yours. Thank you for believing in me that much, even when I am feeling at my worst! I love you guys with all my heart always! Thank you Katie on top of this, as that LO is touching on so many different levels... and tells me just how much I mean to you!

YAYA Night/LO Share

So I have been meaning to share some of the the fun pics that my YAYA's and I had taken for our fun photo shoot last weekend. OMG I was feeling no pain as were Steph and Tanya too... we had a few too many. I must say, this photo shoot was so much FUN! I almost peed my pants laughing a few times..! I think Katie being preggers, actually did!

How fun was that?? SUPER FUN! I have to mention that Katie is also 8 months preggers.... notice the BIG BODACIOUS BOOBIES?? LMAO I love you girls.. and I am so glad you girls are in my life. I have an absolute blast with you guys everytimes we get together!

Not happy with this LO at all but Katie seems to think it's on of my best..LOL Go figure. Ang was so sad on Alexa's first day of school... so i placed my beret on her head to try and get her to laugh...lol

WHO'S THE PRINCESS QUEEN BEE
The title has an inside joke in my family, so that is probably why it seems quite odd..LOL So anyways.. where do I start with this LO. Well first of all KATIE LOVED IT SO MUCH, SHE INSTANTLY SCRAPLIFTED IT, AND THEN REALIZED THAT SHE COULDN'T PERFECT IT THE WAY I HAD, SO JUST COULDN'T BRING HERSELF TO POST HER VERSION. What a shame, although I'd never tell her, her version sucked arse... BAHAHAHAHAHA OK translation - so this wasn't the most loved LO amongst my lovlies... the rest were quite nice about it, but leave it to Katie to not hold back.. Ya know I wouldn't have you any other way chicklet... and I still really like this LO no matter what you think. It's funky and trashy, and right out er... HHMMM sounds like a certain YAYA I know... BURN!

So today I catch up on some scrapping that I would like to do.... I have been working me arse off lately and today i just lay back and have some creative fun! Hope your day is full of fun too!
