Good morning... so Melly and Tanya I am feeling your pain.. meaning that this station internet is freakin slow and hard to have patience for. Hence why I haven't been blogging the way I was at home. It's certainly not for lack of time... it's lack of patience.
I am so freaking ready to come home... I have had enough. I didn't even go to any of the parties this weekend (very unlike me), but it seems that those of us that are coming to the end of our tours are like this also. I am partied out.. my a f^%& factor is a big fat zero, zip, ziltch. LOL I opted instead for work.
I didn't even get to scrap thise weekend. I ended up working. INSERT ROLL EYES!!
On a positive note... I got my 30 day wire... which is a huge morale booster up here. It's just a piece of paper that is taped on your door telling you, you have 30 days left in your tour and that you must attend a scheduled appointment to finalize your bookings home. I was absolutely thrilled this morning when I woke up and saw that!!!
WEll as a final note.... please vote for KATIE today!!!!! I am so proud of you my sweets and pray you go all the way!!!!

ARRIVED and hating it..LOL
Well I have arrived safe and sound here in CFS Alert. Once again another adventure!
So John and I made it into Trenton on Wed and enjoyed a nice evening out. He drove me to the airport to catch my plane! After a heartfelt good-bye (ten times easier than the one I had with my kids) we boarded our plane.
Now most of you know that we take a Herc (big cold cargo plane..lol) up to the North. Not the most comfortable means of travelling let me tell you..but we had a treat in store for us this time. DND had contracted a chartered 737 for this flight thru Canada North. Pretty much it's a normal plane that was gutted (except the back which left approx 20 seats) and we had palates of supplies in the front and of course our seating in the back. Now instead of the red cargo netted seats we normally have... we had nice cushioned normal airplane seats.... AND WARM!!!! LOL
Next out comes the Globe and mail from our uniformed beautiful flight attendents. Then the pillows, blankets and amazing hot meal.. (again as opposed to the infamous yuckie box lunches we normally have). WHAT A FUN AND AMAZING WAY TO GET THE THE NORTH POLE.
Then the other shoe dropped. Well unlike out Hercs (which can fly in almost anything) this flight was suppose to make a stop in Iqualiwet (sp?). Well they had a massive snow squall going on so we had to make a stop in Kujowak QB. I still have no idea where this palce was. LMAO. Anyways a very tiny airport.. I mean small.... and all us cramped together for 6 hours of a delay. We couldn't take a direct flight to Alert as we were chartered with the civis and they had to do a manditory crew change according to their policy. So I tried to go to sleep and ended up on the conveyer belt praying it wouldn't turn on. OH YA LAUGH IT UP.. you can so picture me on this right?? BAHAHAHAHA
So FINALLY, after what seemed like forever, and I was ready to eat my feet, we took off and landed where we were suppose to and the crew changed, and we were fed, warmed... etc... Slept all the way to ALERT!
It was nice to see everyone again and many new faces which just reminds you that you are that much closer to leaving.. I was given huge hugs from my CO and Sergeant Major, and from my friends I was picked up and bear hugged to death. Nice to see I was missed!! LOL
I had a couple Fri night but must admit I passed out early and slept until.... 1845 the next day. I slept for over 20 hours.... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT???? I almost fell down when I figured that out. Guess being sick and being a mom again really took much out of me. I was too spoiled up here with rest I guess huh? LOL
Went out for a bit last night, but again took it easy... slept in till 1000.
I miss home... and am counting the days!!!

Sniff - Back to the North Pole
WEll the time has come and my mini vacation is over. Back to reality for me!!! I am heading back to Trenton with John today, and flying out tomorrow! I really do NOT want to go back.
When you're away from home for a long period of time your spouse turns into survival mode... meaning that they make their lives extremely routined to get thru everything. That is what John did. So when you try to reintegrate back into your home there can be some frustrating, hard moments. John and I did pretty good considering as I just adhered to his schedule and went with the flow. It was still hard though trying to become the lady of the house again. We were finally getting the hang of it when WHAM... time to go again!
So I know it's only 5 weeks.... and I will get thru as will my children and hubby... we do what we do to get thru it... But it still sucks major arse!!! LOL
I miss you all already and will be in touch... here's hoping I can access my blog okay up there.... If I am not posting you know why!!!

HAPPY MONDAY
Well the kids are at the sitters today and I am at home resting. After a week of yuckies I need it..LOL Not to mention I am by far 100% back to normal. My throat is still killing me and I hardly have a voice! You'll laugh at this one though. Having one of my many goofball moments I wanted to hear what I would sound like if I sang... BAHAHAHA Ya it was that bad!!! I tried singing amazing grace, and well it hurt my throat (DDDDUUUUUUHHHHH...lol) and was far worse than any nails down a blackboard. Why do I do such silly things???? LOL
John and I had one of those talks last night that just reminds you of why your happy to be together. It was about our futures, our children, what we hate in our lives right now and how we can make it better. It's still nice to know that after being together for almost 8 years we can still keep the lines of communication open.
Today I surf the net, read some blogs and just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Hope you have a good one too!

COUGH SNEEZE HACK
Love these sounds.... insert rolling eyes... lol
I am afraid this is all that you can hear in my house right now... Rather grosss actually! Dimetapp, Tylenol Cold, Nyquil, saline spray and cough syrup with codeine are the meals of choice... YUM YUM!!!
Seems Alexa and I got hit the worst as we are both still struggling with a deep dry hack... John and Ang have the runny/stuffy noses but seem to feel somewhat better this morning!!!
Maybe some fresh air may help us today... we'll see about getting some groceries to see if that makes us feel better!!
Wish us luck!!! LOL

The first of the month!
I love the first of every month. It's like a new mini start and with my organization skills it's a blessed welcome. LOL
I love going thru all the different sites and seeing the new challenges posted, the new products, and of course my FAVE the NEW KITS!!! LOL
I think I am going to start highlighting some of the challenges that I'd like to take on... maybe by committing here I can actually get most of them done. This also gives you "not so keen on surfing" scrappers a chance to go right to the challenge source if this is what you're looking for. Also featured my fave sites and some new and old friends!
Let's face it, we all like to get pages/projects and cards done, so here's hoping you find inspiration here!!
COME ON AND JOIN ME SCRAPPERS!!!
1. MY ABSOLUTE FAVE......... Becky Fleck Mar 07

These jumped out at me.... I challenge YOU!

2 - Memories From Scrap a fun site that my friend Lucy Chesna owns has a monthly contest on the go. She is one of the friendliest gals I have come across online and I ask that you spread her name around. She is sponsered so have a look at the great prize when you check out the March 07 Contest. The contest theme is. "WHY YOU ARE LUCKY"
Lucy also sketches and loves to share them. She posts bi-weekly LO and card sketches and here are her first half of March sketches. Thanks friend.... you are an inspiration!
