Great layouts. I love the big ribbon on the top one. Methinks I am going to have to try that!
I love both layouts. But I know what you mean about a layout not turning out the way you imagine. Even if everyone else thinks it's great, if it's not what you'd pictured in your head, you get kinda disappointed, eh?
