Dumb Bum/Saturday Findings

So I was chatting with my YAYA Katie the other day and she proceeded to give me an earful of "crap" as the weight loss ticker I had orginally had on my blog was from a diet pill company. For the record i am dead against diet pills, and just loved the ticker... I didn't realize where it came from... BAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yes DUMB BUM.. so thanks Katie for bringing this to my attention, I would hate to have endorsed that on my blog. LMAO

So yes I am on the weight loss quest. I have really approached this one with more smarts me thinks... I haven't cheated myself out of anything, but really have concentrated on portion size, and not snacking at night. Some days I came in under my points, and once this week I indulged in one extra point from my extra 35 weekly points. If you haven't guessed, I am on Weight Watchers. I have done the Online program as I know myself and have a hard time going to the meetings. I wasn't suppose to weigh myself until Monday, but I did yesturday and am already 2 pounds down.. Hee Hee.. Anyways this is going to take me a good year or two to get my weight down... but baby steps... I'll make it!

This weekend I hope to scrap.. we are looking to go apple picking tomorrow and enjoying a gorgeous weekend..

WAHOO - Past first round!

So I have something new... I decided to join the "TOP DESIGNER" contest over at BAD GIRLS totally just for the challenges (I was doing them whether or not I got thru)... well I have made it past the first round.... WAHOOOOO!! Very unexpected as the talent in that gallery knocked my socks off!!! LOL The challenge was "Colour Theory", ways to use colour to express an emotion/mood etc. Well this was the LO I submitted!!!

YES, that is my YAYA Steph, and one of the most beautiful girls I have ever met. This picture of her is so gorgeous and classy. I went for the elegant feel here and I think that I accomplished it...LOL

So us YAYAs (my bestest friends... KATIE, MELLISA, STEPHANIE and TANYA) have decided to do a monthly swap of photos to add to our YAYA albums. This month was Steph's and she is the proud owner of 4 very different, very beautiful lo's. I have given my pics already and the other gals are giving out theirs soon, I can't wait for our future reveals.... LOL

Anyways... just shouting out... this week's challenge is to use texture on your lo... have me some ideas.. the wheels are a spinnin...!!!

I'm back baby.... LMAO!!!

I did this Alone LO yesturday (based on a challenge/sketch over at LM), and another LO that I can't share yet as it is for my YAYA and we are having our reveal Fri night. Will post as soon as I can after that cause it is one of my best!! LOL

So this lo Alone was inspired by a challenge over at Lifetime Moments. I am participating in their LO/Card a day Sept challenge. We'll see what I can get done. LOL So this LO was suppose to be about making a list. Well I didn't go with the traditional list making, but instead used the background PP as my source. So I journalled my list on there. The theme is pretty much how John and I rarely have time to be alone...lol This includes any picture we want to take...

This LO Angelcake is one of my faves too.. No sketch no nothing..... my very own design... which is a great victory for me, as I pretty much 80% use a sketch...LOL The story behind this lo was discovering that my oldest DD Alexa is now a little girl and no longer a toddler. I had a hard time with that.

Morning, an odd day for me.. took today off as I am pulling a 24 hour shift thursday and friday. So catching up on some e-mail, and I AM GONNA SCRAP BABY!!!! Wahoooooo!!!

Hey bloggers.... I am looking for an amazing how to make a sketch tutorial out there in internet land. Basically I have tons of pencil sketches that I have done, and want to convert them to gorgeous sketches like you see on many of the sketch sites. I have yet to come across anything that has tickled my fancy...

I tell ya what... if you point me in the right direction and I am particularily fond of what you have shared I am offering a RAK to you...

STRETCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... YYYYYAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! Oh I am tired today!!! LOL Thank goodness tomorrow is a stat holiday.... Sometimes it's good to just be lazy..... doncha love days like that????

This weeks challenges are COLOUR based.... ENJOY!

4. Orange, Black and White (maybe a hint of purple...lol)

5. Purple, Brown and Black

Anything goes.... cards, lo's, altered art, but you must have 5 different projects with these are the ONLY colours. Some are trickier that others.... may have to mix and match your stash... or you may have that perfect PP...lol

Saturday Findings/Chicken Pox

Sorry I was MIA this week, I have been dealing with chicken pox in my house. My girls returned from the camp ground, and my oldest Alexa had small bumps on her. Assuming they were bug bites, we carried on as per normal. Well Lexa woke up the next morning with a whole wack more of the "bug bites" and the realization hit us. Then Angelina woke up the next day with all kinds of little bumps.... CRAP.. CHICKEN POX!

We were confused as the girls have both been vaccinated, and the bumps didn't present as normal chicken pox. They never blistered, no fever from either girl, no icky sickies, just bumps that look like they'd come to a head any minute but never did. They are itchy as all heck for them though. So after chatting with the docs that I work with, it was clarified... be warned, your kids can still get chicken pox if they have received the vaccination. They say only a 10% chance, but both my girls, my nephew, and other friends kids have all gotten it... Me thinks there is more than a 10% chance...lol Anyways, god luv aveno oatmeal baths, calamine parties (I had to get painted with them..lol) and good ole Benadryl. Life makes sense once again!! LOL
